The spirit of Lord Yahweh is on me for Yahweh has anointed me. He has sent me to bring the news to the afflicted, to soothe the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to captives, release to those in prison, to proclaim a year of favour from Yahweh and a day of vengeance for our God, to comfort all who mourn.

Spiritus Domini super me eo quod unxerit Dominus me ad annuntiandum mansuetis misit me ut mederer contritis corde et praedicarem captivis indulgentiam et clausis apertionem ut praedicarem annum placabilem Domino et diem ultionis Deo nostro ut consolarer omnes lugentes

Lo spirito del Signore Dio è su di me, perché il Signore mi ha consacrato con l’unzione; mi ha mandato a portare il lieto annuncio ai miseri, a fasciare le piaghe dei cuori spezzati, a proclamare la libertà degli schiavi, la scarcerazione dei prigionieri, a promulgare l’anno di grazia del Signore, il giorno di vendetta del nostro Dio per consolare tutti gli afflitti.
